Of course, there was  still truly great music released in 2013, but many of my most  anticipated discs fell really short. With new albums from Banner Pilot,  Against Me, Beck and a shelved Johnny Cash recording that is  resurfacing, 2014 looks promising&#8230; <\/p>\n<table align=\"center\" border=\"1\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" width=\"238\" height=\"225\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/talon-of-the-hawk\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/frontbottoms_talon_150.jpg\" title=\"frontbottoms_talon_150\" alt=\"frontbottoms_talon_150\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td width=\"510\" height=\"225\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>The Front Bottoms &#8211; <i>Talon Of The Hawk<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">One  of New Jersey&#8217;s finest, the quirky, clever, and funny indie rock here  is as adventurous as it is memorable. Dual gender vocals (though mostly  female), and light touches of violins, and acoustic guitars illustrate  they&#8217;ve got a lot of tricks up their sleeves, too.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/levin-minnemann-rudess\/\"><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/saveends_warm_150.jpg\" title=\"saveends_warm_150\" alt=\"saveends_warm_150\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<p><\/a><\/td>\n<td>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>Save Ends &#8211; <i>Warm Hearts, Cold Hands <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">These  Boston darlings have been making waves around their town for awhile,  but this LP should exist in everyone&#8217;s collection. This is a solid  example of punk-lite, or, if you prefer, gritty indie rock. The &#8217;90s  guitar crunch and incredible female vocals here are a combination that&#8217;s  impossible not to adore. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" width=\"238\" height=\"226\">\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/briannaleapruett_bells_150_01.jpg\" title=\"briannaleapruett_bells_150_01\" alt=\"briannaleapruett_bells_150_01\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/td>\n<td width=\"510\" height=\"226\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>Brianna Lea Pruett &#8211; <i>Gypsy Bells<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">A  warm, intimate and elegant listen from this rising folkie, Pruett&#8217;s  calm melodies and emotive storytelling occasionally sit on the cusp of  country or Americana, and her songs are touching, universally relatable  and heartfelt.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/the-low-highway\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/steveearle_150.jpg\" title=\"steveearle_150\" alt=\"steveearle_150\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/td>\n<td>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>Steve Earle &#038; The Dukes (&#038; The Dutchesses) &#8211; <i>The Low Highway<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">When  Earle&#8217;s rugged voice sings you listen, \u2018cause this man has things to  say that you want to hear. But they eventually won  over everyone. This  one came out in 1995 and took DIY to an entirely different level,  with  McNew even making instruments out of cardboard. Raw, primitive and  with  an odd selection of covers amid many originals, very few ears  heard this  when it first came out and this certainly warrants a larger  audience.     <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" width=\"238\" height=\"223\">\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/superchunk_hate_150.jpg\" title=\"superchunk_hate_150\" alt=\"superchunk_hate_150\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/td>\n<td width=\"510\" height=\"223\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>Best Song     <\/b><\/p>\n<p>  Superchunk &#8211; &#8220;Low F&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>    If this were a Top Eleven Albums Of 2013, Superchunk&#8217;s <i>I Hate Music <\/i>would be on it.
