True,  we lost Tom Petty, Chuck Mosley, and Chris Cornell, but personally,  things finally began looking up. Along the way, there were some great  soundtracks to back up everything that was going on. The Full Counts \u2013 <i>First Out<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Started  by former members of \u201890s alt rockers Gumball, The Full Counts put out a  record that record was quite different from what I\u2019ve been listening  to. But I felt drawn to it and have kept going back throughout the year.  Featuring a little bit of alt rock, folk, and plain ol\u2019 attitude, it is  one of the more unique records of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: \u201c(No You) Don\u2019t Let Me Down,\u201d \u201cI Got The Time\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"228\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\">\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/soundgarden_ultramegaok_150.jpg\" title=\"soundgarden_ultramegaok_150\" alt=\"soundgarden_ultramegaok_150\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"> <\/div>\n<\/td>\n<td height=\"228\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b>9. Soundgarden \u2013 <i>Ultramega OK [Reissue]<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>This  release was one of the last things Cornell treated us to before his  tragic and unexpected suicide. This record had needed some work for  quite awhile, and the band really got behind how epic this record is.  Soundgarden at their punkiest and most raw.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: \u201cFlower,\u201d \u201cHead Injury,\u201d \u201cAll Your Lies\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"220\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/dead-cross\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/deadcross_st_150.jpg\" title=\"deadcross_st_150\" alt=\"deadcross_st_150\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td height=\"220\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b><br \/>8. <i>Dead Cross \u2013 <\/i>Dead Cross<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Mike  Patton and Dave Lombardo playing hardcore together? Yes, Virginia it  happened and Jesus, it is heavy as hell. Patton\u2019s vocals haven\u2019t been  this histrionic and insane since the \u201890s. The music is driving and  furious, and Patton just adds the cherry on top and proceeds to destroy  most other hardcore punk that\u2019s out right now.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: \u201cSeizure And Desist,\u201d \u201cObedience School\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"223\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/strk_bobsburgermusicalbum_150.jpg\" title=\"strk_bobsburgermusicalbum_150\" alt=\"strk_bobsburgermusicalbum_150\" \/><\/td>\n<td height=\"223\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b>7. <i>The Bob\u2019s Burgers Music Album<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Clearly  the best cartoon on television right now, besides \u201cSouth Park\u201d and  \u201cRick And Morty.\u201d A collection of every song that\u2019s been performed by  everyone from Gene, Tina, Linda, Teddy, Jimmy Junior, and everyone else.  What else needs to be said?<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: Everything<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"231\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/dead-cross\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/hellmouth_oblivion_150.jpg\" title=\"hellmouth_oblivion_150\" alt=\"hellmouth_oblivion_150\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td height=\"231\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b>6. Hellmouth \u2013 <i>Oblivion<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Jesus  Christ! Jason Navarro of the Suicide Machines returns with one of the  heaviest punk rock records I think I\u2019ve ever heard. This is real punk:  no keyboards, poppy choruses, or any of that shit. If you\u2019re looking for  something to break the monotony of Fall Out Boy and Paramore, then this  is the record for you.<\/p>\n<p>Highlight: \u201cDead In The Dirt\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"226\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/concrete-and-gold\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/foofighters_concrete_150.jpg\" alt=\"foofighters_concrete_150\" title=\"foofighters_concrete_150\" \/><\/a>  <\/td>\n<td height=\"226\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b>5. Foo Fighters \u2013 <i>Concrete And Gold<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>After the mind-boggling nothingness of <i>Sonic Highways<\/i>,  Grohl and Co. return with a strong set of original hard rock. It\u2019s  bands like this that allow people like me to believe that rock isn\u2019t  really dead, it\u2019s just being buried under a ton of computers and  unnecessary effects.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: \u201cRun,\u201d \u201cThe Sky Is A Neighborhood,\u201d \u201cLa Dee Da\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"220\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/how-did-i-find-myself-here\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/dreamsyndicate_how_150.jpg\" alt=\"dreamsyndicate_how_150\" title=\"dreamsyndicate_how_150\" \/><\/a> <\/td>\n<td height=\"220\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b>4. Dream Syndicate \u2013 <i>How Did I Find Myself Here?<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>On  their first album in almost thirty years, one of the most influential,  underrated \u201880s alt rock bands returns with one of the strongest  collections of songs this year. Recorded in my hometown of Richmond, VA,  this disc shows that the band has not changed hardly one iota of their  sound. It allows listeners new and old to discover a band that should\u2019ve  blown up huge in the \u201880s.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: \u201c80 West,\u201d \u201cThe Circle\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"223\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/weather-diaries\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/ride_weather_150.jpg\" alt=\"ride_weather_150\" title=\"ride_weather_150\" \/><\/a> <\/td>\n<td height=\"223\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b>3. Ride \u2013 <i>Weather Diaries<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Another  great reunion record, coming 21 years after their last. Some longtime  fans weren\u2019t too thrilled with this record, but as a newcomer, it was  something that was quite outstanding and different: shoegaze,  alternative, and plain rock blended together into quite a tasty stew.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: \u201cLannoy Point,\u201d \u201cLateral Alice,\u201d \u201cWhite Sands\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"231\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/the-lower-side-of-uptown\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/toadies_uptown_150.jpg\" alt=\"toadies_uptown_150\" title=\"toadies_uptown_150\" \/><\/a> <\/td>\n<td height=\"231\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b>2. Toadies \u2013 <i>The Lower Side Of Uptown<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>After  a lackluster last record, the longtime alt rock stalwarts returned with  another strong set of tracks that show they haven\u2019t slowed down at all.  The songwriting is even a bit stronger this time around and everything  blended together creates a record from a band that still create  originals and doesn\u2019t rely on their sturdy catalog.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: \u201cHuman Cannonball,\u201d \u201cMama Take Me Home,\u201d\u00a0 \u201cPolly Jean\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td height=\"226\" width=\"238\" align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/strk_singlesdeluxe_150.jpg\" alt=\"strk_singlesdeluxe_150\" title=\"strk_singlesdeluxe_150\" \/> <\/td>\n<td height=\"226\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"><b>1. Original Motion Picture Soundtrack &#8211; <i>Singles [Deluxe Version]<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Without  a doubt, this is the greatest soundtrack ever released! Released before  Cornell\u2019s suicide, this deluxe disc is crammed full of plenty of  unreleased solo tracks that truly show off how amazingly talented he  was. Almost every great band of primal Seattle grunge is here and the  whole package is so lovingly put together. It is definitely the best  reissue of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights: \u201cState  Of Love And Trust,\u201d \u201cSeasons,\u201d \u201cWould?,\u201d \u201cBreath,\u201d \u201cBattle Of Evermore,\u201d  \u201cChloe Dancer\/Crown Of Thorns,\u201d \u201cNowhere But You\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Twenty seventeen was a lot better than 2016 in more ways than one.
