Not only did I undergo many personal  challenges, I found a lack of great and amazing music that really blew  my mind. Maybe it\u2019s the lack of anything new and exciting and because  rock and roll is no longer what it used to be. Whatever the reason, what  follows is an unranked list of the best of what\u2019s around from this  year. <\/p>\n<table align=\"center\" border=\"1\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"228\" width=\"238\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"> <\/div>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/mudhoney_digitalgarbage_150.jpg\" alt=\"mudhoney_digitalgarbage_150\" title=\"mudhoney_digitalgarbage_150\" \/><\/td>\n<td height=\"228\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\">Mudhoney \u2013 <i>Digital Garbage<\/i><\/p>\n<p>This  was the best album of the year regardless of what others say. The  grunge stalwarts came back after five years off the racks and went  political, and guess what? They made one of the best records of their  career. It\u2019s heavy, it\u2019s pissed off, and I\u2019ts full of attitude and songs  that really make a person think about their environment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"220\" width=\"238\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/legion-xx\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/burnthepriest_legion_220.jpg\" alt=\"burnthepriest_legion_220\" title=\"burnthepriest_legion_220\" \/><\/a> <\/td>\n<td height=\"220\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\">Burn The Priest (Lamb Of God) \u2013 <i>Legion XX<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Lamb  Of God, in the midst of seemingly never-ending touring, went and made a  quick collection of punk and hardcore covers under their original name  that really set my ears afire. Bands like Bad Brains, The Accused, and  others get the LOG treatment, which made for quite some good tracks this  year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"223\" width=\"238\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/is-this-thing-cursed\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/alkalinetrio_cursed_150.jpg\" alt=\"alkalinetrio_cursed_150\" title=\"alkalinetrio_cursed_150\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td height=\"223\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\">Alkaline Trio \u2013 <i>Is This Thing Cursed?<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Another  band that\u2019s been missing for five years, came back and made one of the  best records of their career. Doomy and sunny at the same time, this  release shows that the band has staying power and can stake their claim  as one of the more consistently great punk bands of the last 20 years.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"231\" width=\"238\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/in-the-blue-light\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/paulsimon_bluelight_150.jpg\" alt=\"paulsimon_bluelight_150\" title=\"paulsimon_bluelight_150\" \/><\/a> <\/td>\n<td height=\"231\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\">Paul Simon \u2013 <i>In The Blue Light<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Definitely  one of the more eye-opening records I\u2019ve heard all year. Supposedly the  last studio recording of his career, Simon decided to go ahead and  re-record several songs from his back catalogue that weren\u2019t hits and  redo them in a different style. And you know what? It oddly works and  several songs were very endearing and really hit me where I live, so to  say. I wasn\u2019t expecting this sort of emotion but was very pleasantly  surprised.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"226\" width=\"238\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/never-gonna-die\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/pennywise_nevergonnadie_150.jpg\" alt=\"pennywise_nevergonnadie_150\" title=\"pennywise_nevergonnadie_150\" \/><\/a> <\/td>\n<td height=\"226\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\">Pennywise \u2013 <i>Never Gonna Die<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m  happy to see these guys back, and they made their strongest record  since the early 2000s. It\u2019s nice to have great old school punk coming  around again. We always need something like Pennywise to erase the emo  stain of Panic At The Disco from our music consciousness. This is some  of the best and most furious punk I\u2019ve heard in a few years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/smokin-in-seattle-live-at-the-penthouse-1966\/\"><i><\/p>\n<p><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"220\" width=\"238\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/wildness\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/snowpatrol_wildness_500.jpg\" alt=\"snowpatrol_wildness_500\" title=\"snowpatrol_wildness_500\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td height=\"220\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\">Snow Patrol \u2013 <i>Wildness<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Their  first since 2011, and they\u2019ve ditched the electronic elements that  marked their last couple of discs to make a really good release. The  record was a complete flop and gave the band no radio hits, but it was  great to have a good pop record out in the midst of whatever the hell  currently passes for pop music on the radio.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"223\" width=\"238\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/jefftweedy_warm_150.jpg\" alt=\"jefftweedy_warm_150\" title=\"jefftweedy_warm_150\" \/>\u00a0 <\/td>\n<td height=\"223\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\">Jeff Tweedy \u2013 <i>Warm<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Literally  a record I discovered while I was writing this. A more laidback solo  recording featuring his son on drums, Tweedy cut some of the more  electric edges and made a more folksy kind of record that really worked  with how I\u2019ve been feeling about music and life lately.
