But I still had time to listen to a lot of music. Some of it was bad, most of    it was average &#8212; and some of it was wonderful, proving once again that the    Internet has brought us more musical diversity. Thorn Coyle &#8212; <i>Give Us A Kiss<\/i><\/b>         <\/p>\n<p>The only CD on here I haven&#8217;t gotten to yet (and we&#8217;ll be changing            that pretty darn soon, yes, yes, my precious), a gutsy, no-holds-barred            work of rock and roll from one of the best Pagan artists out there.<\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"220\" width=\"238\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/halos-and-horns\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2002\/12\/dollyparton_halos.jpg\" title=\"dollyparton_halos\" alt=\"dollyparton_halos\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td height=\"220\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>8. Dolly Parton &#8212; <i>Halos And Horns<\/i><\/b>         <\/p>\n<p>Damn, it must be fun to be Dolly Parton again. Doing music she loves,            getting critical acclaim and Grammy nominations, and being herself.            Another magnificent roots and Americana release from the reborn and            relevant Parton.<\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"223\" width=\"238\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/joy-of-it\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2002\/12\/jennybird_joy.jpg\" title=\"jennybird_joy\" alt=\"jennybird_joy\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td height=\"223\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>7. Jenny Bird &#8212; <i>Joy Of It<\/i><\/b>         <\/p>\n<p>One of the best independent releases of the year from a pure singer\/songwriter,            Bird&#8217;s <i>Joy Of It<\/i> was, indeed, a pure joy to listen to.<\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"231\" width=\"238\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/sea-of-no-cares\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2002\/12\/greatbigsea_nocares.jpg\" title=\"greatbigsea_nocares\" alt=\"greatbigsea_nocares\" \/><\/a> <\/td>\n<td height=\"231\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p><b>6. Great Big Sea &#8212; <i>Sea Of No Cares<\/i><\/b>         <\/p>\n<p>Past CD of the year anointees Great Big Sea return with another rollicking            CD of Newfoundland folk-Celt-rock, this time with a few new twists in            the production department.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"226\" width=\"238\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/the-gathering-of-spirits\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2002\/12\/carrienewcomer_gathering.jpg\" title=\"carrienewcomer_gathering\" alt=\"carrienewcomer_gathering\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td height=\"226\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p><b>5. Carrie Newcomer &#8212; <i>The Gathering Of Spirits<\/i><\/b>         <\/p>\n<p>Indiana&#8217;s own Carrie Newcomer delivers a steel fist in a velvet glove            with this lyrical, crystalline, and potent release. Easily the best            written CD of the year.<\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"220\" width=\"238\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/fire-in-the-head-emerald-rose-live\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2002\/12\/emeraldrose_fire.jpg\" title=\"emeraldrose_fire\" alt=\"emeraldrose_fire\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td height=\"220\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p><b>4. Emerald Rose &#8212; <i>Fire In The Head<\/i><\/b>         <\/p>\n<p>The rare live CD that doesn&#8217;t suck. Far beyond that, in fact, it rocks,            catching the infectious sound of Atlanta-based CeltPagan rockers Emerald            Rose at their best, funniest, and most incendiary.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"223\" width=\"238\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/always-take-me-back\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2002\/12\/johncowan_always.jpg\" title=\"johncowan_always\" alt=\"johncowan_always\" \/><\/a> <\/td>\n<td height=\"223\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p><b>3. John Cowan &#8212; <i>Always Take Me Back<\/i><\/b>         <\/p>\n<p>This is the CD that meant the most to me personally this year, with            songs like &#8220;Blood&#8221; providing some needed catharsis. Cowan&#8217;s            collection of newgrass, pop, and rock and roll is powerful and brilliant.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"center\" height=\"226\" width=\"238\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/snow\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/spocksbeard_snow.jpg\" title=\"spocksbeard_snow\" alt=\"spocksbeard_snow\" \/><\/a><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/saint-mary-of-the-woods\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2002\/12\/jamesmcmurtry_saint.jpg\" title=\"jamesmcmurtry_saint\" alt=\"jamesmcmurtry_saint\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td height=\"226\" width=\"510\">\n<blockquote>\n<p><b>1 (TIE). Spock&#8217;s Beard &#8212; <i>Snow<\/i>; James McMurtry &#8212; <i>Saint            Mary Of The Woods<\/i><\/b>         <\/p>\n<p>OK, perhaps I weenied out here. But I literally could not decide, so            call it a tie; these two CDs were equally brilliant and utterly incomparable.            <i>Snow<\/i> may end up being the swan song of L.A.-based progressive            rockers Spock&#8217;s Beard, but if it is, what a way to go; a double-CD concept            album that actually works. Austin&#8217;s James McMurtry delivered an understated,            perfectly crafted album of country and blues-tinged rock that didn&#8217;t            leave my CD carousel for weeks. There&#8217;s no comparing them, so I guess            we&#8217;re ordering two trophies this year\u2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">So there they are.
