When John Lennon was shot on December 8, 1980, the world was
\nshocked and saddened. I, on the other hand, was unmoved. At the
\nripe age of 9 I was barely aware of the fact that there was hair on
\nmy head, let alone that a great musician was shot dead. Only now
\nafter years of listening to his music am I aware of what the world
\nlost.<\/p>\n
Now, I have to be honest. I never cared for what causes Lennon
\nand Yoko were fighting for, or what they did for world peace. I
\nlove his music. Period!<\/p>\n
\nLennon Legend<\/i> consists of 20 songs that can only make up a
\nfraction of his incredible work. Running almost 78 minutes, this
\nalbum is perfect from start to finish. Composed of some of his more
\npopular work like “Imagine,” “Instant Karma” and even “Happy
\nChristmas (War is Over),” Lennon marvels us with his ability to
\nrecord pop songs, ballads and even some hints of reggae. I
\npersonally enjoy the great work with percussion. Listen to track
\n16, “Nobody Told Me,” and see if you can hear the wood block and
\ncowbells in the background. In a word: Incredible. Granted some of
\nLennon’s songs can be a bit of a downer, “Mother” and “Working
\nClass Hero” come to mind rather quickly. But, we must remember,
\nLennon always had a point to make and he chose his music as his
\noutlet to make those points. Even if they are depressing.<\/p>\n
There is something on this album for everyone. A worthwhile
