I mean, how do you review Frank freaking Sinatra? The man is more than a musician, more than an actor; he remains a cultural treasure more than eleven years after his death. How can I write a review about his music?<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I was stuck. Then I decided to think outside the box.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Without further ado, I present \u201cVocabulary Building With Frankie.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>nonpareil<\/b> (n.) A person or thing having no equal. \u201cFrank Sinatra is a nonpareil in the world of vocal jazz and swing.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>augmentation<\/b> (n.) Making greater; improving. \u201c<i>Classic Sinatra II<\/i> is a great augmentation of Sinatra\u2019s greatest hits catalog.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>exemplar<\/b> (n.) A model or pattern to be copied or imitated. \u201cSinatra\u2019s version of songbook classics like \u2018All Of Me,\u2019 \u2018Moonlight in Vermont,\u2019 \u2018Just One Of Those Things\u2019 and \u2018Something\u2019s Gotta Give\u2019 should be considered exemplars for other performers.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>epiphany<\/b> (n.) A sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something. \u201cSongs like \u2018Too Marvelous For Words,\u2019 \u2018The Tender Trap\u2019 and \u2018Learnin\u2019 The Blues\u2019 were amazing epiphanies for my appreciation of Frank Sinatra\u2019s music.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>emetic<\/b> (n.) Causing vomiting. \u201cUnfortunately, not even Frank Sinatra can stop \u2018High Hopes\u2019 from acting on me like an emetic.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>reminiscent<\/b> (n.) Awakening memories of something similar. \u201cAnd for any child of the \u201880s, \u2018Love And Marriage\u2019 will forever be reminiscent of the dysfunctional Bundy family.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>retrospective<\/b> (n.) Any exhibition or series of showings or performances, as of musical works or motion pictures. \u201cIn the end, <i>Classic Sinatra II<\/i> is an excellent retrospective of Sinatra\u2019s Capitol recordings, and an essential purchase for anyone who enjoys his music.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b>echelon<\/b> (n.)
