Neal Morse is a musical chameleon.\u00a0 You never know what he might do next, but one thing you can be sure of is that it will be good. No one probably ever expected Morse to reunite with his former band Spock\u2019s Beard. Morse left the band back in 2002 right after the release of Snow<\/i>. He didn\u2019t even tour for this release, so it makes a lot of sense for the reunited band to pick up right where they left off.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
Morsefest was an ideal place where such reunion could take place. It was a one-off event where the fans could experience something special, and this particular reunion can be counted as such.\u00a0 Since Morse and Spock\u2019s Beard never had the chance to perform Snow<\/i> in a live setting, it was a perfect opportunity to see that happen. And if you never did see Morse fronting Spock\u2019s Beard then again, it was a chance of a lifetime. It\u2019s something that never happen again\u2026although we\u2019ve learned to \u201cnever say never.\u201d<\/p>\n
Judging from the quality of this performance, it appears to that both parties were extremely excited to make this happen. There is definitely a lot passion can be heard and observed during this performance. The band sounds tight, and everyone seems to be enjoying this reunion. Also, it highlights how different Spock\u2019s Beard was under the leadership of Neal Morse.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
Snow<\/i> was originally regarded as a breakthrough record at the time of its release, and the music still holds up very nicely. It didn\u2019t loose any of it swagger 15 years later. It can be considered as a classic prog album of the early 2000s. And here, of course, the fans can have the live experience for the very first time.<\/p>\n
This lavish package has it all. You can listen to the show on CD, or view the experience on DVD. The DVD includes a look behind the scenes, so you can see what went into making this event happen. It\u2019s beautifully put together with a collector in mind. It\u2019s definitely a time machine experience for any longtime fans of Spock\u2019s Beard fans, though in many cases, it\u2019s the initial contact.
