{"id":45960,"date":"2020-08-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/kidbug\/"},"modified":"2020-08-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-08-28T00:00:00","slug":"kidbug","status":"publish","type":"review","link":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/reviews\/kidbug\/","title":{"rendered":"Kidbug"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">An indie-rock super group that brings together Marina Tadic from Eerie Wanda, Adam Harding of Dumb Numbers, Thor Harris of Swans and Best Coast&#8217;s Bobb Bruno, this first album from Kidbug births a self-described \u201ccuddlebug sludge,\u201d where pop and grunge collide over a romance between the founding members Tadic and Harding. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cNow Let&#8217;s Go To Sleep\u201d starts the album with Tadic&#8217;s soft vocals guiding a bit of an eerie backdrop with just a lone guitar, and \u201cLovesick\u201d follows with a soothing, dreamy quality that&#8217;s also grungy as the band find a unique spot to exist under an alt-rock umbrella with the sort of fuzz that would make J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) proud. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Things only get better from here, including the more harrowing and rhythmic shoegaze nods of \u201cMoonglue,\u201d as well as the brief, hazy \u201cNever\u201d that just might make you want to revisit the best parts of Sub Pop&#8217;s early catalog.
