With about half of the songs being instrumental, the band brings much textured diversity that sure is appreciated. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The double album gets off to a bluesy start, where \u201cWatchu Want\u201d spotlights Roberts\u2019 precise guitar that is accompanied by Simon Allen&#8217;s very impressive drumming, and \u201cGonna Get In My Way\u201d follows with Lamar Williams Jr.\u2019s soulful pipes alongside Joe Tatton\u2019s playful organ and contributions from Chad Pike\u2019s cowbell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Moving deeper into the listen, you won&#8217;t be able to deny the memorableness of Peter Shand\u2019s bass acrobatics on the funk filled \u201cHighlining,\u201d while \u201cHigh On The Mountain\u201d heads right to the dance floor and incorporates a cameo from Jeff Franca\u2019s bongos and a bit of grit in Williams Jr.\u2019s flowing pipes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Some of the best tracks\u2014not that everything here isn&#8217;t first rate\u2014reside at the end. \u201cNorthern Lights\u201d doesn\u2019t lack any grooves thanks to the cozy rhythm section, and \u201cGeorgie Famous\u201d moves at a brisk pace of punchy drums, fuzzy guitar and stylish organ prowess. \u201cBefore\u201d then exits with a dreaminess that\u2019s heartfelt, emotive and embraces R&#038;B nods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">A fusion effort that takes from blues, jazz, boogaloo, New Orleans sensibilities and, of course, plenty of funk and soul, the addition of vibra slap from Sasha Crooks, trumpet and trombone thanks to Sheter Pand and congas from Don Julio only further enhance this listening experience. <\/p>\n<p>    Whether you&#8217;re a long time fan or this is your first taste of The New Mastersounds, prepare for a really enjoyable hour of eclectic music.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":89,"featured_media":34777,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"tags":[],"artist":[10852],"rating":[5617],"class_list":["post-46634","review","type-review","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","artist-the-new-mastersounds","rating-rating-b-plus"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/review\/46634","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/review"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/review"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/89"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=46634"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/review\/46634\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/34777"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=46634"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=46634"},{"taxonomy":"artist","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artist?post=46634"},{"taxonomy":"rating","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dailyvault.adishjain.in\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/rating?post=46634"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
