Two decades is a pretty long time for a punk band to exist, and Austria\u2019s DeeCRACKS have made the feat with handfuls of melodic and driving tunes that have been globally enjoyed. To commemorate the occasion, they\u2019ve assembled this triple 10\u201d release that brings together some of their favorites.<\/p>\n
The charged, gruff and highly tuneful \u201cBurnt Out\u201d begins the listen with an immediate sing-along appeal, and it isn\u2019t long until the bouncy bass lines of \u201cDown Out And Low\u201d brings plenty of soaring backing vocals to the sturdy riffs.<\/p>\n
Though most of the songs here don\u2019t even hit the two-minute mark, \u201cI Need A Nurse\u201d is nearly three minutes of quick, raging guitar solos and head bobbin\u2019, toe tappin\u2019 punk rock that we could never tire of. \u201cMy Baby Quit Rehab,\u201d the shortest track at not even a minute, than touches on the timeless tradition of pop-punk.<\/p>\n
Deeper into the 28 songs, \u201cRat In A Trap\u201d hits a little harder, but not without plenty of razor sharp melodies, while the summery and even dance-floor-friendly \u201cMonkey Boy (Sandcastle Version)\u201d is largely instrumental and showcases an incredible familiarity between the players.<\/p>\n
Inching towards the end, the indeed heartfelt \u201cDon\u2019t Turn Your Heart Off\u201d is about as intimate as the band will get, and \u201cBeach 90\u201d exits with some of the album\u2019s best backing vocals and acrobatic drumming that is so well done, I just can\u2019t imagine anyone not enjoying the lovely harmonies and dynamic rhythm section.<\/p>\n
