Brian Lynn Jones & The Misfit Cowboys are an excellent band whose Nowhere To Be Found should not be overlooked by any country fan.

Jones and crew are one of those bands who deserve more recognition than they get. Songs like “One Way In (No Way Out)” and “My Old Friend Whiskey” would fit easily on the radio.

This disc has many highlights, including “If I Was Elvis,” which pays homage to the King, of whose music Jones is quite a fan. Another very impressive song is “Smoke And Fire,” while “Less Of Me” has Jones’ vocal style crossing Elvis with country, as if Presley was alive and trying to follow today’s country trends.

“I Wanna Be The One” is another tune with a modern country sound, yet Jones manages to put his own stamp on this album. “Complete” is a good ballad, while “Rainin” establishes the originality of this band.

Some traditional sad lyrics crop up in “(Don’t Come Back) Cryin’ To Me” and “(I’m Getting Used To) Sleepin’ Alone,” which recalls the 1980s work of Mickey Gilley and the 90s work of Brooks & Dunn. “The Wheel” is a solid closer, enough to make the listener hit repeat to start the cycle again.

Every song on Nowhere To Be Found is strong. Brian Lynn Jones & The Misfit Cowboys should not be overlooked, as their music is great to listen to and should get some radio play, if there is any justice in the world. A fine effort.
